Marie Jonsson Harrison is a South Australia based ‘Naive’ artist who brings a human touch to her paintings. Naive style of paintings falls under the Contemporary art category. However, Marie’s sense of humour and observation power of life in general gets reflected in the art work giving uniqueness and freshness to her work. Marie draws inspiration for her works from various spheres of life; adding a little bit of a witty touch.
Marie has had collectors of her paintings, prints and sculptures not only in Australia but all over the world. Marie has been admired world over in the form of various sculptures being named after her; with the largest one being 44 meters long in Balaklava. Her work has won her several awards including first prize in the Country Arts section of the Port Adelaide Rotary Show 2010, two SA Great awards for the arts in 2002 and 2007 and has also been a finalist in the Fleurieu Biennale and The Waterhouse natural history Art Prize twice.
Marie also owns a gallery named ‘Greenhill Gallery’ in South Australia. Her work has been admired and been a part of various corporate collections and art books apart from several private collections of art lovers around the world.
Marie’s work include a wide variety; right from animations, her paintings, Giclee Paints, 3d Prints, Sculptures, Cards, Pet Portraits and Ceramics to choose from. Marie has specially been acknowledged for Ceramic and Mosaic works that are given 3D feel which stand a perfect chance for becoming a part of any art lover’s collection.
